Siphiwe Katjene a wife, a mother of three (3) children and an Industrial Psychologist by profession will bring her childhood dream to fruition as it inspired her to enter the Mrs Universe South Africa pageant. She believes that one should never give up on a dream because of age or personal circumstances.
Katjene from Pretoria East is a finalist in this year’s Mrs Universe South Africa pageant. The purpose of the Mrs Universe South Africa pageant is to offer South African women, married and divorced, an opportunity to reach a wider audience and to represent South Africa at Mrs Universe. The pageant creates a platform to inspire, mentor and empower and contestants raise awareness for charities assisting victims of domestic violence and abuse.
The Mrs Universe South Africa pageant is about celebrating our women in the country. The Mrs Universe pageant is the largest pageant globally catering for married and divorced women. Annually 100 countries compete for this coveted title.
“I am living my dream, almost two decades in my marriage and raising children in what appeared impossible”, Siphiwe beams.
Siphiwe is advocating for the eradication of domestic violence. She supports NGOs/NPOs that are working with victims of domestic violence by taking part in their projects, programs, campaigns and fundraising.
Siphiwe said “Being part of this pageant affords her the opportunity to make a difference in nearby communities by empowering victims of domestic violence and strengthening the work of the organisations that I am partnering with.”
For Siphiwe, this is a journey of self-discovery and growth. The Mrs Universe South Africa Grand Finale will be taking place in February 2022
