Kagiso Mac Mashilo, is a fashion designer based in the outskirts of Gauteng in a township of Klipgat, North –west of Pretoria. He was selected alongside his former partner (Koketso Mokwape) to participate in a fashion week studio that will take place on the 4th to 5th March 2022 at the Ritz Hotel, Place Vendome in Paris.
Mashilo said that “his love for fashion allows him to be visionary. It started in 2013 while he was involved in philanthropy projects in his community while working with a Fashion Designer named Koketso Mokwape.” He said. Due to circumstances they parted ways in business and was then he took the decision to sharpen and gain more knowledge in his field of work by studying Fashion at Tshwane North College and completed his diploma in Fashion in 2019.
He further said that Fashion Week studio is a world stage platform that represents international fashion designers during fashion weeks, They were fortunate enough in 2019 to be scouted on their social media platforms then later they were required to submit their criteria. They were given great news that Melerinerose International is selected as one of the brands to showcase their collection at the Paris Fashion Week, how it had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Paris Fashion Week will be held on the 4th to the 5th of March 2022 at the Ritz Hotel, Place Vendome. “We are looking forward to bringing African luxury heritage to the world stage of fashion , changing the perception and educating since well our collection is called The dopest darkest Tears of Atlantic Ocean.“ Concluded Mashilo.
