Having dreams and pursuing them can be challenging, but Lenco Mosima has overcome those challenges.
He began his journey in 2019 while staying with his grandfather in Lephalale. He decided to host a variety show to uncover talent.
“My participation in the talent show motivated me to realize that I have passion and talent for directing and producing drama.”
Film production runs in my veins, and I don’t recall planning too much for it. “I just come up with ideas and turn them into reality”, Mosima said.
The Soshanguve director has many admirable qualities that allow him to embrace new ideas to produce the best film possible.
His journey into producing led him to establish Lenco Films, of which he is currently the co-owner.
Lenco Films is a production house that promotes upcoming actors and artists in the industry and also hosts workshops to assist aspiring creatives to get experience.
It was his desire to become famous and accumulate money that motivated him.
“I pitched my idea to four people, and I immediately knew I needed to start working”, said Mosima.
As with any business, Mosima said that he had encountered challenges and that it wasn’t easy to start.
To make his dream a reality, he used other strategies, since he did not have the capital to purchase equipment.
Mosima is also a producer at the Soshanguve Talent Show, a talent show where local participants perform the arts of singing, acting, and other activities to showcase skills.
To achieve his goals, he had to change his lifestyle. It never demotivated him, even though he received a lot of hatred and disconnection from friends and family.
Mosima has directed and produced several local short films, including Jukulyn Drama, California Patrol, Bokamoso and radio series that aired on digital radio stations.
His work on film productions has allowed him to establish himself as a director, and it has enabled him to become a prominent figure in the industry.
“For everyone afraid to start, do it now. It won’t be easy, but it is your journey”, Mosima said.
