Harambee, a Youth Employment Accelerator enterprise, has launched a Clothing Drive for its SmartWorks Programme.
The programme aims to assist young people who lack appropriate clothing or the funds to purchase it for job interviews or when starting their first jobs. Harambee emphasises that first impressions are formed within seconds, and how young people present themselves plays a crucial role in their success.
“To ensure that our SmartWorks closet is fully stocked and available to young people, we depend on the generosity of our partners and friends of Harambee, who clear their wardrobes and donate gently worn clothing,”
“We propose an idea for your office to organise a clothing drive to collect gently worn, work-appropriate clothing,” added Harambee.
Once the collection is complete, these donations can be sent to Harambee to support young individuals in their job-seeking endeavours.
The organisation further stated that participation in this initiative would greatly benefit young job seekers and contribute to their professional development.
