The University of Pretoria’s campus radio station, Tuks FM, captivated listeners with a dynamic on-air spectacle, revealing a surprising rebranding as UP FM. This bold maneuver, executed with finesse and spontaneity, exemplifies Tuks FM’s dedication to innovation and creativity within the ever-evolving landscape of radio broadcasting.
In a remarkable turn of events, even the station’s staff were caught off guard by the impending change. With merely three hours’ notice, the station manager unveiled the secret plan, which entailed Tuks FM overhauling its on-air imaging and logo to align with the new identity of UP FM.
Station Manager Lwazi Mpofu emphasized that this bold move underscores Tuks FM’s commitment to pushing boundaries and embracing unconventional approaches to engage its audience, thereby maintaining a competitive edge in the dynamic radio market
“We believe in thinking outside the box and pushing the limits of creativity,” said Mpofu “The decision to rebrand as UP FM for a day was a bold move aimed at generating buzz and sparking conversations about Tuks FM.
