In an exclusive interview with Tshwane Bulletin, Dr Jacky Rampedi, Founder and CEO of Phelang Bonolo Healthcare, emphasised the significance of mental health wellness.
The Phelang Bonolo Healthcare Group has announced plans to establish a new private mental health wellness hospital in Montana.
Dr Rampedi revealed that the decision to establish a mental health wellness hospital in Montana stems from the urgent need for mental health services. “My experience as a clinician in the Pretoria North region, including Montana, has highlighted the critical need for a mental health wellness hospital. Our mission is to address this gap and provide a solution,” he explained.
The Montana Wellness Hospital is a strategic initiative to address the critical mental health needs within the Northern Tshwane community.
“Mental health has historically been neglected, and it is evolving into a serious problem. If we don’t take action now, it could escalate into a pandemic.
Mental health has long been stigmatised, and we are actively working to destigmatise it, encouraging people to treat it with the same gravity as other illnesses,” she noted. The new mental health wellness hospital is scheduled to open early next year. It will offer a comprehensive range of mental health specialities and support services, including psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists
