Traxtion and RSR Dedicate Their Efforts to Enhancing the Lives of Children at Jehovah Jirah Orphanage in Soshanguve.
Traxtion and Railway Safety Regulator (RSR) staff dedicated 67 minutes to cleaning and painting the Jehovah Jirah Orphanage Centre (JJOC) in Soshanguve. The centre has taken care of vulnerable, neglected, abandoned, and abused children and those affected by HIV/AIDS since it opened in 2003.
During Mandela Day, South Africans and organisations give back to communities and the vulnerable in society. The 2024 was ‘It’s still in our hands to combat poverty and inequity’.
“This got us thinking about how we can improve the conditions at JJOC and joined forces with our stakeholder RSR to donate toiletries, clothes and stationery and do some cleaning and painting to bring life to the home,” said Traxtion Brand, Communications and Marketing Manager, Nnoni Mokgethi.
Dr Nelly Matjeke, Founder and Director at Jehovah Jirah Orphanage Centre expressed gratitude for the work done at the centre. It does take a village to raise a child, she said.
“It is important to note that we are not here today only to donate what we have in the spirit of Mandela Day, we are here to donate our time and presence as well. To interact with the kids and to experience the love and warmth they have to offer,” said the RSR Chairperson of the Board, Nompumelelo Ekeke
