The South African Police Service is hunting for an unknown number of suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of Vusi Ma R5, whose real name is Itumeleng Mosoeu.
Vusi Ma R5 is a popular local musician in Pitori, known for several famous Barcadi songs including “Chomie ke Chenchitse. “
It was reported Monday morning in Soshanguve that the Mabopane-born musician was shot and killed. The incident took place at a tavern in Soshaguve when Mosoeu was with his friends.
Apparently, the victim was sitting outside a tavern near Ext 13 in Soshanguve with friends when he crossed the street to get into the car. According to Colonel Dimakatso Sello, the others just heard gunshots and found the victim lying on the ground.
He was killed two months after fellow Pretoria musician Oupa ‘DJ Sumbody’ Sefoka was murdered in a drive-by shooting.
The 34-year-old Bacardi pioneer, made a name for himself with hits like “Tse Nnyane ”.
A funeral and memorial service date has not yet been confirmed by the family
